This adorable L street ranch style was transformed into an open and bright home after a complete exterior refresh and re-thinking of the interior layout. Previous walls gave the house a closed off and cluttered feel, so we peeled things back and implemented a modern open concept. This allowed for a large island which separates the kitchen from the living space. It has quickly become the hub of the home!
Adding pocket doors to a bump out in the front of the house created an intimate office, equipped with floor to ceiling built-ins to accommodate the entire family and those work from home days.
The two bathrooms were gutted and refreshed with details such as lighted medicine cabinet mirrors and wall pantry type storage that helps the bathrooms feel and function as much larger than they actually are.
Pre-existing closet space in the hallway was turned into the main organizational and space saving element, creating a recessed built-in for the main living area and utilizing the space behind it to customize storage for hobbies.
Finally, all new furnishings were specified throughout the public spaces of the house, which polished off the new look and feel of the home. This project took a lot of guts for the homeowners and I couldn’t be prouder for how it turned out!
